Today I attempted my first manga sketches. My first attempts were much better than I anticipated. I’m not saying I have zero confidence in my sketches but I was expecting my first couple of attempts to total failures.
I found that the hardest part of the drawing was to get the eyes right. I think that the eyes were the hardest because they play such an important role in expressing the character. Not only was it hard to make sure that the eyes are balanced but I also had to make sure they showed the emotions of the character.
I believe that the second hardest part of the head to draw is the hair because it is intensely detailed. There are many styles to choose from. I chose the simplest style for my beginner drawings.
All in all I am very satisfied with my first attempts. I have attached my drawings please tell me what you think. I will be uploading more attempts later.
